CAST ANNOUNCEMENT: NEIL BELL AND CAROLINE CHESWORTH TO LEAD NORTHERN SOUL STAGE PRODUCTION, KEEP ON KEEPIN’ ON
We’re thrilled to announce the full cast for Keep On Keepin’ On, a soulful and sharply funny new stage production landing at Crewe Market Centre from 13–17 May 2025, then touring to St Paul’s Working Men’s Institute, Blackburn from 21st - 24th May and then to Blackpool Central Library from 28th - 31st May 2025.
Leading the cast is Neil Bell as Eugene – the last man standing on a once-bustling northern high street. Bell has worked extensively across TV, film and theatre, with credits including Shane Meadows’ Dead Man’s Shoes, Mike Leigh’s Peterloo, and most recently Phil Barantini’s Adolescence. His theatre work includes the original cast of The Political History of Smack and Crack, which won the Summerhall Prize at the 2018 Edinburgh Fringe Festival before transferring to the Soho Theatre, London.
Joining him is Caroline Chesworth as Maxine. A former NHS clinical psychologist, award-winning businesswoman, and mother of three, Caroline is best known for her work across British TV drama and comedy drama. Her TV credits include All Creatures Great and Small (Channel 5), Brassic (Sky Max), Better (ITV), Meet The Richardsons (Dave) and Hollyoaks (Channel 4). A proud Lancashire native, Caroline brings heart and grit to the role of Maxine.
Also starring:
Laura Bayston, an award-winning actress and writer from Dagenham, East London. Known for her roles in BAFTA-qualifying and award-winning films such as Hungry Joe, Hollow, Old Windows, and BFI-backed SAFE, Laura also stars in the feature film The Wife & Her House Husband. Her TV credits include Killing Eve (BBC America), Ellen (Channel 4 Films), Slow Horses (Apple TV), Doctors and Casualty (BBC). She is a long-standing member of The Rats Theatre Company led by Susan Lynch.
Ashley Luke Lloyd, who trained at Ivana Chubbuck Studio in Los Angeles and began his career in the original West End cast of Billy Elliot – The Musical. He has since performed in Dreamgirls (Savoy), Loserville (Garrick), Saturday Night Fever (Peacock), and international tours of Mamma Mia!, Flashdance, and Jesus Christ Superstar. On screen, he stars in Goodwin Island (Amazon Prime) and previously appeared in Waterloo Road, The Royal, and Hollyoaks.
Christine Walsh, a British-Caribbean actor best known as PC Bowers in Coronation Street, has also appeared in Tin Star, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks, The Dumping Ground, and Ridley. With a background in dance, physical theatre, and voiceover, she has recently been cast in a lead role in a new independent feature due to film in late 2025.
Directed and written by Mick Martin, Keep On Keepin’ On is a story of survival, community, and soul – both the musical and the human kind – all set to a blistering Northern Soul soundtrack.
